Join us in observing Shedd’s state-of-the-art animal hospital during a synchronous virtual field trip experience. Kids observe alongside Shedd’s veterinary staff as they interpret X-rays, vital signs and behavior to assess an animal’s health. Kids can ask members of the veterinary team questions and hear about the unique challenges that come with caring for such diverse animals.
Live from Behind the Scenes virtual field trips are interactive digital experiences that bring animals and the staff members directly to you to inspire students with real examples of science.
Grades 3-5 Key concepts: adaptations, life cycles, animal rehabilitation, veterinary science and health technology, STEM careers. Skills: data collection, observation, recognizing patterns, data analysis
